New Equipment
North River Fire has been busy adding to it’s fleet over the last few months! We have upgraded two of our aging units to keep up with our growing community and call volume.
First we replaced our 65ft ladder truck with a 2009 100ft platform truck that will help us tremendously when dealing with structure fires and to ensure we have the best coverage for the growing amount of apartment buildings in our coverage area.
Second we replaced our aging Argo (all terrain vehicle) with a brand new unit which is equip to help us reach those in need no matter how much snow, trees, water, or rocks are in our way!
Thank you to all of the communities we serve for your continued support!
Santa Tour 2020
Guess what! Santa is COMING! We have been working hard with Santa to iron out the route for the 28th annual Santa Tour and it is going to be amazing! We had to change the format of the big visit to ensure everyone is safe (including the big guy himself!) and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. But don’t worry Santa is indeed coming to town!
What is it? The NRFD will be escorting Santa along as designated route. You get to see SANTA also a firetruck or two. We are not able to make any stops so this will be “drive by” style!
When is it? December 12th
Main Tour 2PM Cornwall portion begins at 6PM

Fire Prevention Week October 8th – 14th 2017
Fire Prevention Week 2017
In a fire, seconds count. Seconds can mean the difference between residents of our community escaping safely from a fire or having their lives end in tragedy.
That’s why this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme: “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” is so important. It reinforces why everyone needs to have an escape plan. Here’s this year’s key campaign messages:
- Draw a map of your home by using our grid with all members of your household, marking two exits from each room and a path to the outside from each exit.
- Practice your home fire drill twice a year. Conduct one at night and one during the day with everyone in your home, and practice using different ways out.
- Teach children how to escape on their own in case you can’t help them.
- Make sure the number of your home is clearly marked and easy for the fire department to find.
- Close doors behind you as you leave – this may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire.
- Once you get outside, stay outside. Never go back inside a burning building.
